What are you trying to do?

That's doable mate. Just go through the Download Delivery settings screen to set it to email and follow the instructions for setting the options and put the shortcode on the redirect page of your choice.

Then you need to enable download tracking on the Tracking & Emails setting screen, tick to require guest users provide their email and also registered users. This makes a popup show when the user clicks download, asking for their email. Then you can customise the text in that box to say what you want.

But I did what you wrote and it still shows this 'Download now' button and starts to directly download a pdf file when I click on it, so I guess there's still a settings error ...

Go to my plugin area, then the Support tab, then Error Logs & Debug. There might be an error in there for your last download with more details.

Got it. This is what it says:

So you haven't enabled email capture, that's in the Tracking & Emails settings page as I said above 🙂

Final question: I haven't found it yet, but is there in the support info somewhere a page where all the settings in all the pages are explained in order of their appearance on these pages? I got lost with this one, but I knew it would be possible. I now have the feeling that there are still quite some options , check boxes etc. which functionality I don't really understand...

In the support tab there's a Settings Explained link. The majority of the stuff is in there, but where needed there's also lots of explanation on the actual settings themselves, with examples in some places 🙂

1. Are the email addresses where the files are sent stored somewhere?
2. If I want to keep the addresses for use, I remember I could put in a checkbox where people can opt-in to be on a list for an email newsletter,
Is that right?
