Hello,

We are having an issue when our client resets their password it seems that this doesn't come into effect for 15/20 mins after the reset. Is it possible to make this instantaneous, all the time? As they are clicking on the password reset link & not being able to login for a further 15/20 mins. Yet on occasions it does work?

Clearing cache or using incognito also didn't seem to solve the issue.

We have also tried testing this ourselves having developed the site, and the instantaneous password reset only seems to happen on occasion.

We have 150 users on the site, who are looking to reset password on a regular basis, know of any other solutions or routes we can explore to fix this?

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Hi Michael I'm not sure what could be causing it, likely an issue with other things on the site interacting with it. The reset is immediate in a blank default site, like it is without any plugins at all.

Thank for your quick reply mate.

We have the following plugins installed:

    ACF
    User Role Editor
    Edit Author Slug

Which are the only ones which seem remotely linked to anything where it could go wrong, know of incompatibilities with any of the above?

    Other plugins being used are:

    Admin Menu Editor
    Google Maps Pro
    CMS Tree view

But can't see those having any effect and all compatible with the latest version.

    Thanks again,
    Michael

Sometimes it's not obvious where an incompatibility can come from. You could try disabling this plugin and following the default wordpress password reset on the login.php page, to see if that also takes some time, since my plugin just hooks into the default WordPress functionality itself.

Could you list below all your installed plugins please?

Okay thank you, I'm also in contact with our host; Flywheel, to see if it's anything server side but they're saying it's not at the moment.

    Full list of plugins are:

    ACF
    Classic Editor
    User Role Editor
    Edit Author Slug
    Admin Menu Editor
    Google Maps Pro
    CMS Tree view
    Popup Maker

Latest WordPress version & latest updates on plugins also applied.

    Thanks

You could try my suggestion above, disable my plugin and go through the normal WordPress reset password to see if it is affected.

After that you could also disable all those plugins except mine, set your theme to TwentySeventeen, and see if the problem remains.
